February 11, 2025 — Noon–1:30pm
Hospices play a vital role in supporting both community members and professionals in the wake of tragic events, natural disasters, and other challenging situations. This course will spotlight three innovative initiatives that offer education and resources to clinicians, first responders, and community organizations during times of crisis. Presenters will share examples of the extensive support provided to hospices in North Carolina following Hurricane Helene, a hospice co-response team that trains first responders in dementia care, and the continuous care required for both professionals and families after a traumatic community event.
