<p>From the earliest days of research into bereavement experiences and counseling strategies, it has been assumed that grief expressions differ according to gender, with many people in our culture concluding that men often do not “grieve effectively.” Over the last couple of decades, evidence has emerged to indicate that grief differs not as much by gender as by “grief style,” and one style is not inherently more effective than any other. In this workshop, we will plumb the depths of these differences and discuss ways to best support individuals in bereavement and at end-of-life, whatever their style of grieving happens to be.
