Kevin Orie, DMin

Chaplain Kevin Orie serves as a chaplain at Hospice of the Chesapeake, offering spiritual and emotional care to patients facing life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones. Holding a Doctor of Ministry degree, specializing in chaplaincy studies from Lancaster Bible College, and a pastorate for nine years, he brings several years of experience in providing pastoral support in diverse settings. Chaplain Kevin was born in Florence, South Carolina, but was raised in Hampton, Virginia, and currently resides in Maryland with his wife of 17 years, two high schoolers and a plethora of animals, including two ducks and four chickens. He is a combat Army veteran (Desert Storm) and retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in 2007. He takes a particular interest in volunteering to honor veterans by participating in uniformed honor salutes to the veterans on hospice service. Chaplain Kevin is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive space for individuals to explore their spiritual beliefs, find comfort in their traditions, and navigate the emotional complexities of their journey. His approach is person-centered, respecting the unique spiritual and cultural backgrounds of each patient and family.
