Washington, March 30 — The TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors) Institute for Hope and Healing will host a screening of Hospice Foundation of America’s (HFA’s) 25th Anniversary Living with Grief program, Transforming Loss: Finding the Potential for Growth on Friday, April 20 from 12:00 – 2:30 p.m. in Arlington, VA.
The screening includes lunch and will be followed by a live panel discussion featuring speakers Bret Moore, PhD, ABPP, Linda Goldman, MS, LCPC, MBCC, FT, and Ken Doka, PhD, MDiv.
Dr. Moore completed two tours in Iraq as an Army Clinical Psychologist and co-authored The Posttraumatic Growth Workbook with Richard Tedeschi, PhD. He is also a columnist for the Military Times. Ms. Goldman is the author of Life and Loss: A Guide to Help Grieving Children and is on the advisory board of TAPS, serving as their Children’s Bereavement Advisor. Dr. Doka, who also serves on the TAPS advisory board, is professor of Gerontology at the Graduate School of the College of New Rochelle, and a prolific author and speaker on grief and bereavement. His most recent book is Grief is a Journey.
Transforming Loss: Finding Potential for Growth is an inspirational program about positive change and action by the bereaved in the aftermath of loss. The program offers clinical tools to support and encourage transformative growth in grieving clients and provides self-help advice for the bereaved. It will touch the heart of anyone who has experienced loss with stories of people who have found meaning and purpose through loss.

The event will be held at the TAPS Institute for Hope and Healing, located at 3033 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA. Parking is available within walking distance and the Clarendon metro station (Orange and Silver Lines) is across the street. Attendees must RSVP by April 17.
