HFA Announces New Webinar on the Changing
Hospice Landscape
Live on September 26, 12 to 1:30 PM ET
WASHINGTON, August 24—Hospice Foundation of America (HFA) announced on Thursday that it will add a seventh webinar program to HFA’s 2017-2018 educational programming schedule on the topic Hospice 2017 and Beyond: A Changing Landscape.
Hospice 2017 and Beyond will feature presenters Jim Monahan, MEd, ACHE, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Community Hospice & Palliative Care in Jacksonville, Florida, and Ana A. Sanchez, M.D., HMDC, Chief Medical Director for Community Hospice & Palliative Care, where she oversees medical services for nearly 1,300 hospice patients and a team of physicians and advanced registered nurse practitioners. Mr. Monahan has lectured around the world on grief and hospice care and authored numerous publications, including a chapter on parental grief with grief expert J. William Worden, PhD.
The 90-minute program, live from noon to 1:30 ET on September 26, will address current healthcare delivery in the U.S. and how it affects the care and treatment of patients in hospice care. Changes in healthcare delivery have resulted in hospices seeing patients with more complex needs, challenging the way hospice care has been provided in the past. With more expansive treatment, policy shifts, and the increasing accessibility of hospice care, organizations are being forced to reevaluate their patient care and bereavement support. Through the lens of case studies, Mr. Monahan and Dr. Sanchez will identify these new challenges and offer resolutions through medical, ethical, regulatory, and practical contexts. Mr. Monahan and Dr. Sanchez will take questions from the audience during the live event.
After premiering live on September 26, participants will have 30 days to view the program from the premier or purchase date and obtain CE credits. Click here to view the range of professional boards through which credits are available. Program registration is $46 for individuals and $130 for multi-viewer sites. The program will be offered at no cost to HFA members and to those who have purchased individual or multi-viewer webinar packages for 2017-2018. Click here to learn more and to register.
