HFA Participates in Macy's Shop for a Cause Challenge

WASHINGTON, July 12—Hospice Foundation of America (HFA) is excited to announce its participation in Macy’s annual Shop for a Cause Charity Challenge. The Challenge, which began July 11 and runs through August 9, features hundreds of charities from throughout the United States that compete for up to $300,000 in prize money. Donors, in return for their charitable giving, receive an exclusive Macy’s shopping pass, good for discounts of up to 25% on August 10 through 14.

Crowdrise, the platform through which the Challenge is taking place, offers participants two different ways to get involved. First, individuals can donate directly to HFA through Crowdrise in any amount above $5. Second, participants can become fundraisers, where they will receive their own individual fundraiser page and link to share with family, friends, and colleagues.

HFA normally receives donations through the Combined Federal Campaign, several State giving campaigns, individual donors, and bequests, making this the first instance it has partnered with a corporate entity to receive donations.

“The ways people are donating change daily,” said Cindy Bramble, HFA’s Chief Development Officer. “I’m glad that we have the opportunity to reach our community of supporters in new, fun ways, with the added benefit of a Macy’s shopping pass”

Individuals who donate before July 26 will receive their pass via email on July 26, and those who donate after July 26 will receive their pass on August 9.

As an added bonus and extra savings for donors, HFA will be giving away Macy’s gift cards. Currently, HFA is conducting a sweepstakes for a $50 gift card for individuals who “Like” HFA’s Facebook page, “Share” the link to the campaign, and donate through the Crowdrise platform.
