Darcy L. Harris, RN, RSW, MEd (Couns), PhD, FT

Darcy Harris is a professor in the Department of Thanatology at King’s University College in London, Ontario, Canada, where she also maintains a private clinical practice specializing in issues related to change, loss, and transition. She currently serves on the board of directors of the International Work Group on Death, Dying, and Bereavement and recently stepped off the board of the Association for Death Education and Counseling. She is also a faculty member with the Portland Institute of Loss and Transition, and an internationally known speaker and author of many books, articles, and chapters, with an emphasis on nondeath loss and grief and compassion-based approaches to loss and grief.  Her most recent books are Compassion-Based Approaches in Loss and Grief and Handbook of Social Justice in Loss and Grief, Volume 2.
