Alexis Drutchas, MD

Alexis Drutchas is a palliative care physician at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at Brown University, following which she worked as a primary care physician at Fenway Health, a nationally known LGBTQ health center in Boston.  Drutchas went on to complete the Harvard Interdisciplinary Palliative Care Fellowship and stayed on as a faculty member on the MGH inpatient palliative care team. She was a 2020 OpEd Public Voices Fellow and a 2021 Cambridge Health Alliance Health Equity Scholar. She is involved in educational efforts as the Continuum Project’s educational co-lead and as a member of the Palliative Care fellowship’s health equity education team. Drutchas is an avid writer, and her work has been published in The New England Journal of Medicine, CNN, NBC, Health Affairs, and Newsweek, among others.
