Daniel Shalev is Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine and Assistant Professor of Medicine in Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Shalev completed psychiatry residency at Columbia University followed by fellowship training in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (psychiatric care of individuals with medical and surgical illnesses) and in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and maintains triple board certification. Clinically, Dr. Shalev provides palliative and psychiatric care to patients at Weill Cornell with serious medical illnesses. In addition to his clinical endeavors, Dr. Shalev directs an active research program focused on improving mental health outcomes for individuals with serious medical illnesses. He has published and presented widely and teaches clinicians and students locally and nationally. He serves as psychosocial associate editor for the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management.
