Joanne Cacciatore is a professor at Arizona State University and leads the Graduate Certificate in Trauma and Bereavement program. She is also the founder of the international NGO the MISS Foundation and the Selah Carefarm, helping those who have experienced violent and mass deaths, the deaths of children, suicide loss, and other catastrophic losses. Cacciatore’s work has been published in journals such as the Lancet, OMEGA—Journal of Death and Dying, Evolution and Human Behavior, and Social Science and Medicine; her book, Bearing the Unbearable, now published in seven different languages, remains a best seller.
