"How better to express the parts of Susan Werner that labor put in my
mind than in a multitude of colors. With the vibration of these colors, I put
paint to paper; then came shapes, form, feeling, depth, balance. Most of all, in
my imagination, we became one (the painter's privilege). The magnitude was
overwhelming. This is the best part about painting! I'm still such an amateur in
art skills but I love it!
Before coming to St. Mary's Center I had not developed my emotional or spiritual life. Since I've been introduced to art, I associate colors with my feelings. In this painting, orange is for energy. Green for earthiness, read for passion and sensuality, light blue for heavenliness and compassion, and dark blue for conviction of holiness. It's ecstasy to be at one with myself as a colorful flow.
My abstract expression of Susan; the sideward glance, her lovely turn of head, and gleam of eye. Ever-present energy. And a little smile."
