Title: Faces of Grief
Artist: Robert Dotterer
Organization: Center for Living With Loss at Hospice of Central New York
Info: "The face created by Robert Dotterer, is a face that has three expressions (two on the side). The face is sad, and the interchangeable expressions are mad and scared. The red eye represents that after someone dies, you see the world differently. You can't see things in the same way."

"The Center, holds an after school group, called Helping Hands, Healing Hearts. It is a 6 week grief group for children ages 5 to 12 that have experienced a death in their family and it is offered at Hospice of Central New York twice a year. During each group session there is an opportunity for children to express their emotions through art. In a recent session, the children were giver pieces of cardboard, clay and Playdoh-like material, and were asked to create a Grief Mask or a face that shows a feeling or some of the feelings they have experienced with grief. These images are visual representation of grief are provided by four of the children who are currently attending our group."
