Please read further to learn more about the publication of our companion book, "Living With Grief: Loss in Later Life", and to locate a teleconference site near you. Listed below are a few favorites used by the HFA staff. The Inter-Institutional Collaborating Network On End Of Life Care (IICN) links major organizations internationally in a shared online community. The IICN includes palliative care organizations in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. The Last Acts Campaign runs the Last Acts Discussion List,
an on-line community dedicated to improving end-of-life
care. The Hospice Listserv is accessed and utilized by hospice professionals. To subscribe, send an e-mail to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.ACSU.BUFFALO.EDU ; the list is called HOSPIC-L. ------------------------------------------------------------ Hospice Foundation of America is pleased to announce the publication of its newest book, "Living With Grief: Loss in Later Life." Edited by Kenneth J. Doka and featuring a foreword by Senator John Breaux, the book includes articles on a range of topics by well-known experts in the field of aging and loss, including Robert Butler, Phyllis Silverman, Robert Niemeyer, Brian deVries, and Patrick Arbore. The book also contains an extensive Resource List, Practical Suggestions, and personal Voices essays. View the Table of Contents and read selected chapters. ------------------------------------------------------------ If you are an individual interested in attending the HFA Ninth Annual Teleconference broadcast in April, you can locate a site in your area. Please be sure to contact the local site coordinator listed for information about attending the teleconference at his or her location. Some sites have limited space and a reservation must be made with the local site coordinator. Individual attendees do not need to register with Hospice Foundation of America. If there is no site listed in your area, check back weekly as new sites are added regularly. ------------------------------------------------------------ The CEU (Continuing Education Unit) Packets have been put in the mail to all registered Site Coordinators. Included with the CEU packets is a questionnaire about on-line education. We'd appreciate it if you would share them with your CEU participants, to help us learn more about ways HFA can meet the continuing education needs of professionals.
